Hello
My name is Lisa Smart. I've enjoyed more than 20 years of serving the citizens of Franklin County. I began in the Recorder of Deeds office as a Deputy Recorder in 2003, was promoted to Chief Deputy Recorder in 2014, and elected Recorder of Deeds in 2022. I've also recently had the honor of serving my peers as Treasurer of the Recorders’ Association of Missouri.
My Story
My story is rooted in Franklin County. It’s where I graduated high school, earned my college degree, met the love of my life, raised three children, and enjoy watching our seven grandchildren thrive and grow.
The Recorder’s office offers a glimpse into your story, too. Land records maintain property transactions, marriage licenses reflect weddings, and military discharges contain service records of our military personnel. Franklin County records have been preserved since 1819 and continue telling the stories of those who call it home.
